I had the same problem with the little plastic slot cover on my bike. Luckily I was able to fish it out in about three pieces. Been meaning to take the key and lock to a locksmith and get a betterone with a metal cover like the ignition lock. I thought about shifting the right cubby cover lock to the gas tank, but that one would probably go too with the increased use. Probably replace them both as long as I can keep it keyed to the ignition key.
