I use a ram mount the same way.I made a bracket that attaches to my clutch mounting bolts so I can clip the controller on the left handlebar. It's handy, easy to see and adjust and can easily be moved from the GW to the SW. I brought out the power connector along side the microphone cable. On the scooter I ran the power cable along the handlebar and brought it out from under the handle bar cover just underneath the clutch perch. I'll re-route the power cable to the controller along the handle bar on my GW later on.
With the controller clipped on the handle bar I can easily remove it when the weather's warm as well as use it on both bikes. An extended cord on the controller reaches my jacket with sufficient slack to allow dismounting without disconnecting.
Great Idea Paul!!...especially since I have a full set of o-rings from Harbor Freight (Both Metric and Imperial)I've never worried about my controller. I put o-rings under the knobs to prevent them from turning too easily which also helps keep rain out of the potentiometers. The thing has been wet before and still works okay.

I like that idea too.I've never worried about my controller. I put o-rings under the knobs to prevent them from turning too easily which also helps keep rain out of the potentiometers. The thing has been wet before and still works okay.
