Actual letter to the Canadian Passport office Dear Mr. Minister, I'm in the process of renewing my passport, and still cannot believe this.

How is it that Radio Shack has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a t.v. cable from them back in 1997, and yet, the Federal Government is still asking me where I was born and on what date. For Christ sakes, do you guys do this by hand? My birth date you have on my social insurance card, and it is on all the income tax forms I've filed for the past 30 years. It is on my health insurance card, my driver's license, on the last eight goddamn passports I've had, on all those stupid customs declaration forms I've had to fill out before being allowed off the planes over the last 30 years, and all those insufferable census forms that are done at election times. Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Maryanne, my father's name is Robert and I'd be absolutely astounded if that ever changed between now and when I die!!!!!! S&*T! I apologize, Mr. Minister. I'm really pissed off this morning. Between you an' me, I've had enough of this bullshit! You send the application to my house, then you ask me for my address. What is going on? You have a gang of Neanderthal assholes workin' there! Look at my damn picture. Do I look like Bin Laden? I don't want to dig up Yasser Arafat, for s*** sakes. I just want to go and park my ass on a sandy beach. And would someone please tell me, why would you give a s&it whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days? If I ever got the urge to do something weird to a chicken or a goat, believe you me, I'd sure as hell not want to tell anyone! Well, I have to go now, 'cause I have to go to the other end of the city and get another copy of my birth certificate, to the tune of $60!!! Would it be so complicated to have all the services in the same spot to assist in the issuance of a new passport the same day?? Nooooo, that'd be too damn easy and maybe make sense. You'd rather have us running all over the place like chickens with our heads cut off, then find some ******* to confirm that it's really me on the goddamn picture - you know, the one where we're not allowed to smile?! (morons) Hey, you know why we can't smile? We're totally pissed off! Signed - An Irate Canadian Citizen. P.S. Remember what I said above about the picture and getting someone to confirm that it's me? Well, my family has been in this country since 1776 when one of my forefathers took up arms against the Americans. I have served in the military for something over 30 years and have had security clearances up the yingyang. I was aide de camp to the lieutenant governor of our province for ten years and I have been doing volunteer work for the RCMP for about five years. However, I have to get someone 'important' to verify who I am - you know, someone like my doctor WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN COMMUNISTCHINA !!!

I am just so annoyed that the careers officer at school, failed to suggest "bureaucrat" as a career option for me, I would have been excellent for the position, being so full of BS. Man I could have done that job with my eyes closed!!!:cheeky1:

I've got a good one going that just came to my attention yesterday.

Received a nice little notice from our friendly income tax scalpers that I failed to report my retirement checks and that I owe them blankety blank more dollars plus fines and sanctions.

Ummm, I haven't retired yet, can't afford to :whip: because of events related to a Freightliner truck.

Seems that because the checks are issued in "my name" as a Sr. and I happen to be a Jr. and they are ignoring the fact that the checks show my mother as the recipient, that I ought to be paying taxes. They also seem to have lost count of the fact that all Railroad Retirements are tax free because Railroad Employees retirement accounts are totally funded by the employees only with after taxpaid dollars.

Never mind the facts please, just pay those tax dollars in, even if they aren't legal. Sheesh! Total imbeciles are tending the store there.

Like Tricky, now I have to dredge up documentation. My first answer is just going to be a letter informing them of the facts. Mom has been in a nursing home for 30+ years, the rules of nursing homes state that you sign over your check to them, and then they are generous enough to allow you a monthly stipend of $85.00 a month to spend on any extravagance that you may wish to purchase.

Yep, I do believe I owe those idiots more tax dollars. uh huh....

Sorry Tricky. The longterm after-effect of having waged war on the Good Old US of A. (Just kiddin' dude, I can feel your pain.) :)

Many years ago when I was in the US Navy, I was stationed in Kalifornia. I went to the Department of Motor Vehicles and got a drivers license as the last one had expired.
That's the set up, now for the 'Rest of the Story'.
The next year the State of Kalifornia called me asking why I hadn't paid my State Income Tax. I replied that although I had a Kalifornia Drivers License, I had NOT become a citizen of the state and was maintaining myself as a citizen of the State of Minnesota.
The reply: oh, ok, sorry 'bout that. we will take you off the tax rolls.
I thought that had ended it. I was wrong. The next year the very same person that I had talked to last year, she had identified herself by name both times, called me again for the same reason. Stating that I now owed taxes and penalties for both years.
I, again, informed the same person about my citizenship.
Again, the reply: oh, ok, sorry 'bout that. we will take you off the tax rolls.
Get transerred to another state.
Guess who calls again at tax time.
