Hey guys, I thought I would let you all know that Jerry and Cheryl hit a deer while in Kentucky.

Cheryl tore her nose and face up, and is going to need surgery.

Jerry is pretty sore, but says he is ok. He hurt his knee and ankle.

I will keep you all updated as Jerry calls.

Just got off the phone with Jerry...

He said, he never saw the deer coming. He hurt his right knee and ankle, torn up his gloves, jacket, and he said it ground down his helmet pretty good.

He said they think Cheryl's helmet caught her nose, and it tore it up very good. She will need surgery for it.

The bike plastic was totaled on the right side, as well as the crash bars. He had to go back to the bike to get some papers, and he said the bike started right up, and he drove it back tot he hospital, 70 miles.

All in all, we can all thank god that he and Cheryl fared fairly well.

Jerry is going to try to get on later, to give another update.

UPDATE from one of the members....

Just talked to Jerry. They are waiting on a specialist, and expect the surgery tonight. He says they will be OK, just have to deal with the injuries. A couple of his buddies drove 6 hours to sit with him. Glad he has some friends there.
We're praying for them to heal quickly.

I will, and I know Jerry and Cheryl will appreciate all of your prayers, when they see this.

I have to say, for those that don't know Jerry and Cheryl, they are 2 of the nicest, down to earth, people you will ever have the privilege of meeting. If I could get time away, I would be down there in a heartbeat.

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers to Jerry and Cheryl :waving:

Prayers winging from the Ward family. I hope the surgery turns out well. We met them last year at Calhoun and they are a nice couple of fine folk to know.
