One year ago I bought her with 146,273 and now she is about to roll 155,000. At the end of the month, 1300 plus miles will be trusted with her.

Today, I was driving into work for some overtime money. Since it was her Birthday I missed the turn into work and gave two hours to celebrate so far. Later, more celebrations will happen down the road.

Lots modified on the bike in one year and maintenance done so I have knowledge where shes been. My dad said she isn't a she now because I added a hitch. Her balls are showing! Ok, a ball, but its only 1 7/8", so she is confused I guess.

Photos show before and after shots. Can't wait to see what one more year does.

Only 9K in a year? You've spent way too long in the garage...get out and RIDE!!! :)

Work hours prevented me from more rides. Work is only 6 miles away too. This changed in June, so more miles are happening. Repairs slowed me down some also, but this is now done and enjoyment is there.
Mark you need to get on and ride. I dont see what else you can possibly put on that thing. lol
I've logged over 7000 miles since April when I did the timing belts. I have only taken two short trips. All the rest has been day trips. Unfortunately I will not break my personal best or 25000 like I did last year. Maybe next year once I recover from this surgery.
I will say I enjoy the riding I can get in and where I do ride too. Once I ride to a place, I also enjoy the area. Today I am riding to Starved Rock State Park. It's only 60 miles away, but yet will take up most of my day. I work 60 hours a week, I am 40 years old, lots of home projects and other hobbies also. I have guns, four wheelers, kids and many other things that will use my time. I don't watch tv since I don't have time for it. My guns don't have 1,000's of rounds thru them, but I enjoy that I have them and enjoy when I am out.
It truly is about enjoying the hobby or event that these items allow to happen. I am going to a Meet and Greet to be around others that have a common interest. I won't meet boaters since I don't have a boat, but one day I could be with that also. Miles won't add fast on three machines since I have limited time to enjoy everything.
We all enjoy what we have and how we are able to do it. I am young and wishing I was retired to take off for weeks, but I can't at the moment. So, I will do what I can and make friends as I go. Met lots of great people in one year and several trips came from riding with them again.
Parman, I know what you are saying....my life doesn't allow it at this point.

I understand Mark. Just busting your balls. It's tough when you still have little ones at home. Fortunately for me my kids are grown. I didn't know you were that close to Starved Rock SP. Its about 90 miles from me. Once I get back on my feet we will need to link up and do some camping and riding down there.
I have a boat, snowmobile, 4 wheeler, 2 campers, and guns as well.
Guns only get used during hunting season and that has come to a stop because I'm not paying these rediculous lease fees wanted here in IL.
I've pretty well given up snowmobiling and 4 wheeling as well. In fact I just sold the 4 wheeler to my brother in law. Snowmobile is next to go.
I will keep the boat for now. I still use it a few times a year.
Priorities change and mine has changed to Goldwings, traveling and camping.;)
Hey Don,

My life has not had the stability that I deserved. My ex was quite the number and it isn't easy to find the right person in upper age. Ended a relationship that wasn't right and starting a new place takes up lots of time. Yesterday I was able to go out for the day and rode to Castle Rock and Starved Rock. Hiked 6 or more miles and somewhere around 300 miles on bike. The 300 was a lot more fun. Get on your feet and Pwhoever and I will ride with ya. Sucks you were not able to get that trip in this year. Hang in there.
Mark we need to meet. I live just 6 miles east of Bloomington. Like you I put in quite a few hours at work. When I get the chance on a weekend to ride I go. 2 weeks ago I did the starved rock ride. Somehow it turned into a 320 mile lap.

I will send you a PM. We could see if our schedules match. I don't know how many miles I put on for sure, but did some wandering around and trying to find fun roads around here. 71 between Ottawa and Starved Rock has a few twisties.

Met a guy (Ken) from the Chicago area that bought a Honda Shadow last year. He loved my bike and said he will be looking me up on this forum. He is trying to get into a Goldwing soon. We talked of events going on in the area and events I know of for next year. We'll have to see if WingDing or other events match with you also. I am heading to Eureka Springs, Arkansas Labor Day weekend. Hopefully, there will be a Fall Diggerfest in the Dubuque, Iowa area.

It's crazy how many people chat with you when you travel! I stopped at KFC and a couple stopped me to talk about our 99 SE's. They had the same bike as mine, just not with them at the time. I think a chunk of my day was meeting people and aiming them here to this site.
