The 110/90/19 and 130/90/17 stock tire sizes really limit what is available in the market for new tires, especially in the whitewall dept.

+1 or +2 increases in automobile tires isn't really an issue but is the same true for MC's? Other then clearance concerns, can I change the tires size without throwing off the ergonomics of the bike or compromising safety?

you can get 82 or 83 1100 rims to go to 18 front and 16 rear tire size but you are still limited to clearance of width.

The 130-90 x 17 is about as large as you can go on the rear, and you still have to loosen up the rear drive to get tire past it. The 110-90x19 is a good size for the front end. Go to www.americanmototire.com and check them out.
