I cannot get constant fuel flow thru the petcock. Looking into the tank the filter screen on the end of the pickup tube looks rotten, rusted, and caved in. I am pretty sure this is where my problem lies. I'm thinking about taking a finger saw and cutting the pickup tube off just in front of the filter screen and removing the screen altogether.

Tank has been cleaned throroughly with muriatic acid, neutralized with baking soda, then filled with fresh gas and 1/2 can Seafoam.

Will cutting the pickup tube off as I mentioned cause any problems?

I've torn both screens off in my two GL1000 fuel tanks. When I used the POR I had an air line hooked up to the petcock

Did you just "rip" them out? If so, how? What do you think of just cutting the pickup tube off in front of that filter screen?
