If the left signal works normally when you use it I would suspect a wire shorting to power somewhere or it could be a bulb shorting internally to the position or tail light.
I believe that is in the same aisle as 1970s Volkswagen radiator coolant and the high compression lug nuts.I was thinking blinker fluid....lol

Hi guys!Just got off a 878 mile weekend trip in the heat of eastern Washington (averaged 49MPG!) and encountered an odd problem. My left blinker came on, got bright and low, sometimes almost flashing and then went back to off. All this was when the blinker wasn't being used.
Sometimes would come on when a bump would rattle it. Right blinker was fine. I'm guessing something may be rubbing in the wiring harness or perhaps it's something else. Anyone else encounter this problem? I replaced the entire harness 20 years ago when the signals simply quit working altogether. I replaced the regulator two years ago. I'm going to double-check the wiring under the left cover adjacent to the battery to make sure nothing is/has been burning.
Any thoughts?
Check fuse #2 again, and just replace it. All those things that are not working get power from that fuse.Hi guys!
Very helpful hints!
I have one for ya too. I am on the road and just had a problem with my switches on the left bar. The turn signals stopped working, no brake lights or horn either... The 4 ways work as does the Hi/Low beam switch and the radio controls...
Checked fuses under the tool tray all fine, checked connections to fuse box, clean and tight. Any ideas? I am 400 miles from home and it would be nice to have signals and brake lights...
