I like to reach down into the wells with a long handled brush and agitate any debris loose and them blow out the wells with air before I remove the old plugs. Use anti-seize and make sure to torque them properly.

+1... Also be sure to blow out the water Drain Hole at the base of each spark plug.I like to reach down into the wells with a long handled brush and agitate any debris loose and them blow out the wells with air before I remove the old plugs...
