Thanks for the reply.I suspect the battery as it is original 2004 although it has always been on trickle charger and shows 13.5 volts.Weak or dying battery can cause this.
Thanks for the reply.I just removed the trickle charger and was getting over 15.5 volts on voltmeter (up from 13.5v last tested definitely not healthy).Checked with volunteer as I tried starter and it dropped to 5volts.I think it is definitely knackered.Or a bad connection on battery cables. Put a voltmeter on the battery and read it while you try to start the bike.
Do you think I may get a warranty replacement16 years on a bike battery? Amazing! I bet it fails load test though.
That battery doesn't owe anybody anything!
