What would be causing the main fuse to be MELTING on the ends?

I have a new Auto fuse (new type thanks to a super secret person) that I am wiring in right now but I would like to know why the old style mainfuse would be melting the solder out of the ends all the time so I can center a little attention to this as well.

Thanks.

Randy.

Heat isgenerated by high resistance. The old fuse might have had some corrosion, or might have been defective in that it was manufactured too thin.

Well-soldered wire splices are the best betfor preventing increased resistance and subsequent overheating.
