Yes, if you don't know the age, or 25 years old, I'd replace them fast. Belts can break just from being old with out any real miles on them also.

Didn't you just loose a good 83 engine on a $400 parts bike you got recently because it dropped a belt?
$20-$30 and NOT trash a good engine, Ya I'd do that!



I have a 75, been standing in a barn 25 years. I took the belt covers off and it has like new belts. Honda OEM, look like they were put on yesterday. they are nice and soft, not a mark in sight. I know they seldom show marking, but dang these are beautiful. do you really think I need to change them?

Once you get it running like it should be, if you feel like doing the belts that will finish it off. ,,
If a belt breaks while getting it running like it should be, that also could finish it off also, but not in a good way!
