Definite possibility or bad points/setting or connection to the coil.

a little more info.

I tested for spark. All plugs seemed to be firing. I tested the voltage regulator. I tested something else for continuity and 60 volts across all 3 legs. The bike runs good while the battery is hooked up to battery tender. When I take bike for spin, it runs good for a few minutes. Then spits and sputters. i noticed battery was leaking. Now waiting for new battery. I hope I am done chasing problems. This all started after I rebuilt the carbs. Then I had a head gasket leak. I had to order another head after a bolt snapped inside original head. I also just installed electronic ignition.

I'd be concerned first about whether I had any fuel in/to the #1 and #2 carbs. Loosen those carb bowl drain screws and see if any gas drips out. You've got spark, so better check that you actually have fuel there.
