gl1000 help!!!!!!!!

hello i am in hermitage pa i need some help with my 76 gl 1000 it is loaded! bags trunk faring all the goodies. but i got a problem and i need some help! i put new points in and i cant find my book for the gap i need to know what that is. also i was going to set the valves what do they get set at? intake ?exoust? i need some help i am not getting another book. i got 2 of them already and lost them both

Buy or download a manual. And unless you lose your computer, you can just look stuff up, print out what you need at the time, and not worry about getting your manuals all full of grease!:DOr spend an hour looking for them like I used to do all the time!

valve settings .004 cold engine both intake and exhuast



Plug gap .024-.028 NGK D8EA



point gap .012 - .016 dwell 90



timing 5deg BTDC @ 950rpm



idle speed 950



firing order 1-3-2-4

Try to shoot for .016 And go to Randakks sight for the split timing tips.Its a special way to time your gl 1000.It works great for my 75.

everything worked out great!!!!!!!!!!!!! plugs were junk also so she got a full tune up ! i just wanted to say thank you to you guys for helping me. also are there any goldwing events in the western pa or eastern ohio area??????
