OK I have a 1977 GL 1000 that I'm restoring and ran across a problem.
How do you remove the kick start handle, when I got the bike it was in and I don't have a Owners manual. Sorry if this has been covered somewhere but I searched for it and could not find my answer.

I tried to wiggle it out backwards but that did not seem to work. Should I try more force

yep. there is just a small ball detent like on a ratchet. pull straight towards you.JB

That worked with the help of a rubber mallet
