gl1000 1997 , i have reset timing 3 times , but is it possable to get the timing the wrong way round ,had the carbs cleaned and reset, valves set ect, and even to make sure the coils work turned the 2 wires from the points around switched the spark leadsfrom 1 and 2 cylinders too 3 and 4 cylinders to check the coils but nothing will change the situation ,that the engine will tick over on 1 and 2 ,i get the feeling that the engine is firing on 3 and 4 because it is so smooth butmust bevery week
the bike when on the road has great power .the spark plugs on 2 3 and 4 are light grey/brown no1 a little darker . the slow air screw on 1 when turned does make the engine revs Alter but 2 3 and 4 do nothing.
