I need to know if there is anyway to repair or replace a spark plug wire on a gl1000?

I pinched one in between the intake and the air filter box. Not the smartest thingI ever done.

The original wires cannot be removed from the original coils on the GL1000 but you can splice them with parts from an auto parts store.

I beleive they are like the 1100 and yes you can replace them with a new plug wire, the ends of the stock plug wire are screwed into the plug wire. I got replacement plug wire at the auto store, they sell it by the foot. It is called Packard 440 cable. Or can you use black electrical tape to fix a slice in the wire if you didn't cut the core.

The plug wires on a 1000 are not replaceable if a splice or tape doesn't work you'll have to replace a coil. Just went thru it.

what bill said, I tried to find a NGK splicer at a parts store locally and none to be found. Only found them on-line for 20bucks. I decided to buy new wires and used 1100 coils so I could use the new wires... A gent on here did say the NGK splicers worked fine.

I suspected that the wires on one of my coils were arcing. I cut them off near the coil. Then I soldered on some new wire. Filled the gap in the insulation with 3M electrical tape till it was flush. I've ridden the bike maybe 50 to 60,000 miles since then. no problems yet.
