GL1000 timing marks

Just put new t/belts on. Everything lines up great except left cam pulley mark is off a fraction even when T mark is lined up. What do I need to do to get marks dead on like right side. Any info and advice would be helpful.

thanks

That is nothing to worry about, it is not off by a whole tooth so there is nothing you can do about it.
Seems like mine were not absolutely perfectly lined up either.
check your tension on the belts, one may be too tight.. But like the man said that's really nothing to worry about....Rotate the crank 180 degree's and feel it again..the other side should be tight now, it's fun getting them perfectly balanced..Remember Not too tight not to loose at any part of the rotation...
I let the spring loaded pulleys do their job putting tension the belts. Did not apply any more pressure on them as I was tighting them down in position. So it's normal through the rotating of the crank for each belt to go a little tighter-loser at different points in the turning of the crank. Just want to double check everything before starting to put everything back together.
Thanks for all the info.

do you know if they were that way with the old belts?
Yeah the T mark and the sprockets all line up with old belts. I was very careful I kept checking the marks during installation to make sure nothing had moved. I put Napa #250274 (Gates) belts on and these are supposed to be the equivalent to OEM Honda belts for the 77GL1000. It was a little diffficult getting the left side belt on, it was like it was a hair to short. Maybe I need to try another belt. The belt will not go on with the marks dead on. The pulley has be out of line this amount for belt to mtn. on pulley. Here another pic. and again remember T mark and other pulley line up fine.

I would want it to be spot on( but I can be anal ) it will be fine like it is, but you will have to redo your timing cause that is the side with the point( or Dyna )

It looks like in that picture it is off by a tooth, can you take one straight on? No way I can tilt my head to get a straight look at that.
If your flywheel mark is at T1- then the left cam is definitely off.
As Dave says, take the pictures directly in front of the source. My neck hurts.
