I have an 82 GL1100 Aspencade that neither the fuel or temp gauges work. I have read on this website and others about the voltage reducer, from 12 to 7 volts but I can't find it anywhere! Where is this reducer located? What color is it? I can't even find the wires to trace it. Can anyone please tell me where itso I can replace it? Thanks

Do you have a service manual. If not HERE is a link to one. You will find the link in the eighth post.

Don't know about the temp gauge, but on my '82 GL1100-I there are two connections on top of the fuel tank (under the seat). The one on the right goes to the fuel gauge. You might want to pull it off, clean it up and check the wiring for looseness. That brought my fuel gauge back to life. Hope this helps.
