This might be a newbie problem, but here it is. I have a new to me 82 Standard. 63,000 miles, well maintained.

My problem is, sometimes when I start out, I get a buzzing sound from my clutch. It's not all the time, and once you get going it goes away completely. I'm pretty sure it's just my technique on starting out, but I just want to be sure I don't have something going on in there.

It's only occasionally, it goes away completely, and has no other problems. The bike is just this side of cherry, saying that I'll be doing the belts in a week or so. The PO said there about 2500 miles on them, but couldn't be sure when they were done.

I also get what I'm told is the Old Goldwing Knock if I don't have enough RPM when starting out. Again, not all the time...

Be gentle

Bob
