On my 82 1100I I can't get it to come off the center stand in my garage or driveway .Everytime I try to get it down it just slides on the concrete.I have used the center stand before and not had any problems, but now it just slides. I looked under the bike and don't see it broken or rusted off like I have read about. Is there an adjustment? or something I am missing

You could try a little more air pressure in the rear shocks to make it easier to let go. Put it on the side stand and move the center stand with your hand. Ypou should feel spring resistance but no binding. Oil it up & try again.

Another thing you can try is to put a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the ground contact part of the stand. This will give you some grip to the stand and stop it from sliding so much. Or dip the ends of the stand in that vinyl Dip for hand tools that you will find in a local hardware store.

You can always have a buddy or your old lady put her foot in front of the stand to stop it from sliding.

Or lay a board on the ground with one end contacting the front of the stand.
Now stand on the board and push forward on the bike.

Stands just gotta fold now. But don't loose control of the bike.

Good Luck

Is your stand straight up and down when in the down position on the bike. Something tells me it may not be vertical anymore, and not in the right position anymore. Could be something bent under there.
