the choke linkage on my 81 does not seem to be working right. One of the little caps was gone but i am not sure if that has much to do with it. Out of the bike when you turn the mechanism to the right it does not close the choke valves. Am i missing something or maybe i just should not be concerned. Any ideas on adjustment and making sure it work before put the carbs back in.

Oh yea, they should close..,, assuming they are open to start. Missing cap, no big deal. Something must be binding somewhere. Rut Row

In this pic, the choke should turn Counter Clock-wise (I believe left, Wilf) The end of choke cable goes in the piece by the end of the pliers.
