The float bowl gaskets are smaller than the groove they are supposed to fill and I am having trouble re-installing them. Is there some trick to this?

Thanks for your answers.

Depends on who you got the gaskets from (wasn't SabreCycle, was it? I got mine from PartsNMore and they fit perfectly. Maybe previous owner used wrong gaskets?

I've never had trouble with these gaskets... but in other cases, I use something tacky that is compatible/soluble with the liquids.. in this case, I might try a little petroleum jelly or even a light coating of some general purpose grease.. I just coat the o-ring before putting it in place... But use nothing that would gunk up the carb ...

Use some thick grease. It will dissolve in the gas without any problem. Don't use gasket sealer because it's very likely to leave small hard pieces inside the carb bowls which are prone to get into jets or the float valve.
