Any suggestions for checking if the gauge or the sender is the culprit? The gauge just stopped working this weekend and the fuses are all fine etc.

Keep something else in mind IF the malfunction is in the sending unit (float) check it for rust. If it has rust, so does your tank. :shock:

Recoating the tank is a fun thing to do on a nice "too cold to ride" day.:cheeky1:

When mine quit working, I pulled the seat off and cleaned up the connecters with light sand paper and a knife and that solved it! Try that first , it's free!

Its the sender. When I shorted out the wires with the ignition on the gauge shot up to full. Thanks for the help finding the problem.
