I have taken the cover off of my speedo a couple of times and then put it the same one back on. It takes a little bit of time an patinance. Take a small screwdriver and put it under the silver ring around the unit. What you are going to do is lift up the bent in part of the ring. Lift up the ring to make it smooth with the center part, then move the screwdriver just a little bit and do it again. You will work your self all the way around the ring prying up the bottom part of the ring. After you have gone all the way around try to pull up on the crome ring to get it off. You might have a few places that are holding still on the ring. This will take about 15-20 min of prying before you can lift off the ring. When finished putting the screws back into the face put the ring back on the unit. Take a large pair of water pump(slip joint) plyers to get the ring back into the ring position. The take the plyers to crimp back the ring to hold the 2 parts of the body together. By putting the crimped side on the bottom when you put the speedo back on the bike it will be on the down side covered up by the housing that holds the speedo and tach. When you get done you will be the only one to see the repair and you have spent nothing.
