I've got a 1981 GL1100 interstate.
It didn't have an ignition switch so I bought one of the after market ones. Now on my helmet lock do you know if a locksmith can make a key for it at a reasonable price I also need a key for the fairing box also:stumped:

Thanks for any help

I don't see why not. It's a lock, like anything else out there. You may have to get a key blank from the dealer first but talk to the locksmith first.

You can buy the blanks online

The keys for the helmet lock should be the same as
for the fairing box. I'd have the locksmith make the fairing box one first and then try that in the helmet lock. You will need a real locksmith, not a keycutter like they
have at Walmart. Good Luck

Most Honda dealers can make a key from the # on the helmet lock. Take that # to the dealer and see. I know the dealer I use did it with no problem.. Good luck. Jim The cost is also a lot less than using a locksmith.....

:waving:The Honda part number for the GL1100 key blank is: 35121-KW3-771, at the local dealer in Renton, WA cost was $7.70 plus tax.
