Are the plug wire on a 83 GL1100 replaceable or are they built into the coils. If they are replaceable where would a good place be to find some wires.

Thanks

Yes they are replaceable. An auto supply should have 7mm solid core wire in bulk. You need about 6' (2 M).

make them about 1/2 inch longer than stock wires. that leaves a little bitto be able to trim them later if you ever have to.

Great thanks. Can I replace the plug caps with any standard typr or is there something special about the ones on the wing?

Thanks

They are 5K ohm resistor caps.

Ok. Thanks. Are they special or do all caps have a 5 k resistor. If they are special would I ask for caps with 5 k resistor or would the local parts guy look at me like a I have 2 heads. haha

I have no idea if you can find them at your local parts store. As far as resistances I'm sure there are different ones, the old BMW cars used similar caps but straight, not angled, with the resistance molded into them.
Maybe someone else can assist you with where to find them near you.

Check your caps with an ohm meter. Spec is 5K +/- 10% You will more than likely be able to reuse them.

your local auto parts may be able to get them or search online sources. Honda here had NGK reasonably priced.
