:praying:I had the misfortune of thinking that if I put some Royal Purple in my engine (1980 GL 1000) it would run better! Of course, this caused my clutch to start slipping. I changed the oil and put in the recommended oil, (Per Clymer Book) but after riding it for 200 miles or so, the slippage continues. Is there anything else that I could add to the oil to help this situation? I would like to hear your thoughts . . .

Yeah, it should clean out if you put some MMO or SeaFoam in the oil for a couple hundred miles and then change the oil to something like Rotella.
It may take two flushes if the purple stuff is real nasty.

Some clutches just do not do well fully synthetic. Especially if clamping force might be a little lower than when new.
