I would say THAT is not a viable motorcycle mechanic to go back to. :readit:

If it don't run right, the real problem was not fixed.
If he was a real mechanic he would have checked the vac hoses and let you know so they can be replaced.
In my book the vac lines are part of the fuel system.

Do scout for a mechanic worthy of your money.

That "fact" that it spits and sputters when accelerating suggests vacuum leak. Check the intake elbows where they connect to the heads. If the large O-rings there were not replaced, replace them. Cheap, easy fix and the most likely source of vacuum leak "under load."
