Don't expect these bikes to accelerate cleanly at all times. As you know at certain speeds a down shift is necessary to accelerate. Before I did the Dodge Neon coil mod mine wouldn't accelerate cleanly from 60 in OD or 5th. Even now with the coil mod it isn't sharp.
When the spitting and sputtering occur does a down shift allow it to accelerate cleanly?
Has anyone checked the plug wires, coils and the ignition wiring? Did anyone remove the cover and check the mechanical advance? Has the vacuum advance been checked?
