I am starting this project today or tomorrow. Any helpful hints or shortcuts? I am curious if I need to remove the clutch lever and throttle assemblies or just leave them attached and then remove the handlebars andtry to lay them out of the way?

I have a new lock-tab washer just in cash the old one is not re-usable

Use a soft cushion, blanket or towels so you don't scratch the false tank. You don't have to take everything off. Don't re torque if you feel any notch type of wear on the bearings, otherwise you'll be very disappointed with the scary handling.

Update, I did not finish the steering head bearing torque.

I was wondering if anyone with a homemade locknut tool would be willing to rent, lease or sell it to me. Using a punch tool is not getting the locknut off.

Thanks

I have access to one, but posting it to the USA and back would probably cost as much as buying a new one!
