1980 Gold Wing GL1100 Interstate. Noticed on last ride my volt meter was ranging
from 8 to 10.5 volts. Every once in a while it would jump to 14 volts. I have my volt
meter hooked up at the fuse block. I might have a ignition switch problem. Any ideas would be help full. Thanks.

Could be ignition switch, main fuse cracked, connection on the starter relay, bad ground connection or a charging system problem.

Connect a meter to the starter relay red wire and at the front end of the fuse terminals in the fuse box. That will tell you if there is a voltage drop in the circuit through the ignition switch.

Thank You for your help. Did find corrosion at regulator connection. It Was just enough to cause intermittent connection. All is good now. Thanks again
