GL1100 welding on the frame

Hey Guys

Tater here on my 82 GL1100I I need to do some welding on the frame to modify it for a chin spoiler I bought .

What I need to know is what all do I have to unhook so I don't fry my electical system.

Remove the battery off the bike.

Tanks for the info I new that on a older car you had to unplug the alternater and negative post but was not sure on the bikes again Thank You.

I'm not familiar with the 1100s but check to make sure the cooling system isn't tied into the frame like it was on the 85 V65 Magna that I used to own.
