One more question to you all. I changed oil in gl1100, i could only find dipstick hole to drain oil from is this the right way, or is there better way?How much oil do they hold i put in about 3 1/2 quarts is this correct.

Yes, that is the drain. The 1100 did not come stock with a dipstick. The aftermarket dipstick mounts in the drain hole. 3.5 quarts is the right amount.

If you've got a dipstick in the front of the engine, that has been added, and replaces the original oil drain bolt. 3 1/2 qts is the correct amt.
If you do a search on this site, you will find a link to download FREE manuals for your bike, including the Honda service manual. They are great resources!

I dont like the dipstick,looks cheap and leaks at compression fitting. anyone know the thread on drain plug
