34 psi in the tire seems low tome. My tire AVON VENOM reads 41psi. I do have a bit of a bouncy ride dont know how to tell what PSI my forks are at since I have the onboard with the electronic dash. 2 bars max. I max it out. This gives me the best ride on the twisties wityh minimal craping.

i will try different settings this weekend. As far as the Anti DIve. I am just under 400lbs. I will also try differenty settings.

My question was just to find out what the best comfort and breaking would be. Doesnt the bike have to dive a bit in order for the front breaks to preform 70% of the stopping power without sliding.

after being interested I decided to take one apart :)

Thie one about shows the small port bottom right small hole.
The big hole is where the blunger type thing goes which has 2 holes in its sides

The plunger enter into where the bolt from caliper goes into it.

Pressure from the brake fills the plunger and this spring controls how much pressure is applied.

This is a picture of both sides the plunger( thats what I'm calling it) would be fited in the top piece and it has an oring that slip fits and only allows a limited travel. notice the wear mark on top of the plunger, that is where the sleave from brake caliper bolt pushes it and activates the TRAC.
What I have come to believe with my limited knowlefge of this is that, the trac if not maintained and cleaned thouroughly will not perform correctly and that is why some many don't notice a differance when they change settings.
THis is just my speculations and I can not base this on nothing more than taking it apart and making assumtions:D
Ride Safe, Ray:waving:
Here's the link to larger photos I took, by the way this was a junk slider and when taken apart the trac was full of crud:shock:

The Honda recommended psi for the front is 32psi. I know this will probably open a can of worms but I figure I'm using the correct size bias ply tire very similar to what was originally used, so I have played with tire pressures off and on and this seems to work well. Tire wear seems to be good and ride is good. On cage tires, most tire gurus will recommend that you run 15% over the manufacturers suggested psi. The cage MFG's don't care how quick your tires wear out, just that you get a good ride. That being said, I figure that mother Honda is more precise on there tuning including tire psi. Then why don't I run 32 in the front, I do. The 34 psi is the rear. I run it just a bit over because of carrying extra weight in the luggage. Unloaded the front and rear on the 1200 is 32 psi. At least that is what the sticker on my LTD says. Just my $.02

Had mine set on 2 when I first started riding it but didn't like the way the nose cranked forward even with mild front brake pull. Put it to 3 and it's alot better. Hated the way it was diving on me.

This is a great thread. I also had the draining problems, only resolved by changing the anti-dive settings as described here. Last night changed the left side to '2' and the right side to '4', and it is a totally different bike in the front end. Much more compliance over the small stuff. Big bumps the same as before. I run 10W MOTUL fork oil (syn) and 6 lbs air in the front (stock springs). Bike has always beeen a bit stiff in the front, until now. I would have to say in my case the trak anti dive settings also have an effect on the compression stroke oil restriction in non-braking cruise situations.

Progressive springs no air in forks set both at 4.
