I would not run mine without it. The long tube goes down to the rear left (as your setting on bike) and connects to item#18. Item#15 tube goes into breather. I believe it takes the moisture out/ seperates to not let it get back into the engine. Withouit it your engine will run rough.

it attaches right behind the airfilter housing behind the frame brace.

Here's a pick of it.

The black chamber is the seperator in the crank-case breather system. It directs cylinder blow-by pressure out of the crank-case back to the air filter. It's also supposed to help remove excess moisture from the air intake and deposit it into the holding chamber,(item 18). The chamber should be drained every few months, more frequently if you do a lot of rainy weather or high speed driving.

Ray, you're getting awfully good with the posting of those blow-ups... :gunhead:

Oh... while you are there, I hear a strange noise from drive shaft/final drive, the more I accelerate more it does,it only stops if I close the throttle-decelerate.
Someone here says it's got to do with type of oil, I tried SAE 90 for trasmission,to morrow I will buy SAE 80 GL5 and I will see.
My fear is to have done something wrong on the putting it together.I only changed the seals.
What is your opinion?
Million thanks.

Hi,

I blocked off the holes on my GL1100 airbox and have the crankcase breather venting into a container.
Good luck
