I just got my gl1200i back on the road after various repairs. When I put the rear wheel on, I noticed that the teeth looked to be worn. Today, while taking off from a stop sign, I got this horrible grinding and loss of drive to rear wheel. I wish now that I had changed out the part, but it hadn't given me any trouble, so I guessed that it was normal looking. Has anyone had one go bad? I will know more when I get my bike towed home and inspected. I guess I am hoping that I am on the right track. Anybody have similar experience?
