Hello everyone,

The fuel pump on my 1986 GL1200 Interstate recently starting making a sharp clicking noise which has become quite loud at times. It almost sounds like an electrical spark discharge.

On another site I read that this fuel pump could be easily replaced with one from a 1985 Honda Prelude. However, when I tried to find one, I found a number of different pumps from different manufacturers and none looked quite like the one in my bike. Does anyone have the part number for the Prelude pump that can be used as a direct replacement for the original?

Thanks
William Weber

The Airtex p/n E8310 and/or Beck Arnley p/n 152-0775 can be used, but neither are cheap...

Beck Arnley has their 152-0568, which is more "generic" as a low-pressure low flow electric-inline fuel pump. See also the MrGasket 42S and similar in the "generic aftermarket" as more affordable solutions.

The 42S will flow below 4psi (2-3.5, I believe), which won't push past the needle/seats on your 1200 floats...
