Well, here's an option for those of you who are having trouble with your gas caps no longer venting. Honda says the cap for the GL12 is no longer available but...I went to a local Honda car dealer and picked up a cap for a 1987 Honda Civic. Its the wrong color, but...

Now for the CAPPER.

I just went out to try it and the cap had built up so much pressure that I could barely turn it.

I'm having a deja vu moment. :(

I don't know if it's lack of lube, but mine has ( can't say always, but ) been tight to get off.

Yeah, but once I had the pressure off it turned easily. And whatI was hoping to curehere was the excess pressure building up in the old cap.

This was just an expensive lesson for me. If I share it, maybe someone else will benefit from my stupidity.

I can't seem to makethat stupiditywork in my favor. :stumped:

Dennis--- Not stupidity, it's experimentation. In the end, we all learned something. Unfortunitly at your expense.

I was on a fixed income all my working life. I worked 40 hours a week and got a fixed?? pay cheque for my labour.

On the gas cap, in 87 cars already vented fuel vapour through a charcoal canister, your bike doesn't.

BTW: Your favourite online store shows a cap for only $25.82. Are they lying?

Yeah, their lying. I tried to buy one and they called to say, "no longeravailable". It's odd they haven't changed that listing.

I just looked and Honda Direct line shows it too. :stumped:

Dennis- I'm sure you know this- there is a 87 gas cap on E BAY,and many other years if they are the same.

I have never been able to fix my income, it always says "insuffient funds" think that means it's broke !:ROFL:
