hi wingers

i live in the uk and i've never
owned an american bike before.
i've been trying to find out the
model/i.d of my bike.
on the rh/bottom of frame label
i've no obtained some info.
i don't know what it all means:-

type: sc14 ?
frame: sc14-4001933 (4 million+ gw)
p.v.a 83/6521 ?

the owners papers advise:
interstate (de) luxe
1984.

i don't know what my full exact
model is. on the honda parts
manual i d/l today. it advises
same year with different letters
A & L

i'm confused about my bikes
model reference for finding parts etc.

any advice greatly appreciated
wingers!

regards and thanks everyone!

Doesn't seem like a complete VIN. The US models are all 17 letters and digits. Begins with 1HF which indicates manufacture in here in the states. I'm not sure if models intended for the UK market are the same. If the label isn't readable, the complete VIN is stamped on the right side of the steering neck.

GL1200L - fuel injected, first model year was 85

GL1200A - Aspencade, carburated, factory radio, digital dash, speedo readout.

GL1200I - Interstate, most easily distinguishable by needle/dial speedo and tach.

Usually, the emblem on the saddlebags (if still intact) indicated which model it was.
