Hello,

Does anyone have an idea on the quarter mile times of a GL1200A? I am also looking for the rpm/speed figures (speedo is dead). This is all curiosity, I've found all the specs on everything you can imagine but have come up dry on the same numbers for the Wing. Anyone have a clue?

Thank You,

Kevin

Hi

I ride a 87 1200 aspy. 0-100kph in 6 mins flat.

Seriously however next time I ride (next weekend) I will make a note for you of speeds/revs at 30mph, 50 mph and 60 mph.

If you want any particular speed for your local limits just post those. Someone else might be able to do this sooner and will post prior I'm sure

I believe I saw a thread that some guys ran 2950rpms and some up to 3100rpms at 60mph. So3000 should be close.

Hey Andrewl, you need a tune up! 0-60 in 6 minutes, sheesh! REDWING can beat that on his 50 with Shep on the back.

Sorry that was a poor attempt at humour. On the wrong discussion board for that.

Been for a ride

4th gear 1900 rpm = 30mph

4th gear 2400 rpm = 40mph

top 2400 rpm = 50 mph

top 2900 rpm = 60 mph

top 3400 rpm = 70 mph

All speeds on flat motorway. Hope this helps

Andrew,

I guess cruising at 4,500 in OD isn't exactly legal ) :

What a great bike !!!

I appreciate all the replies. I found a test that showed 13.156in the 1/4 mile.

From my blighted memory ( bear in mind we work in km's here) 4500 rpm is about 85 - 90 mph.

Legal in Germany, certainly not here.

Hi Kevin

I have a speedo problem too. Had to order new drive gear for it. I live in Arizona and drive the highway everyday to and from work. I use as a bench mark, 3100 is about 60-65; 3400 approx 70-75. I judge by the traffic flow and what I know the normal speeds are. I hope I'm close anyway, and hope this helps.

That agrees with my 1500, not the exact same speed to rpm ratio, but 500rpm gains 10mph in just about every gear. So on Andrew's bike 90mph should figure 4400rpm.
