GL1200 Radio Cassette

Hey everyone, im not that familar with the 85 but if im correct the 85 came with the RM1200 Radio Cassette, and 84 to 87 is all the same unit i believe correct? My customer says it plays for a bit and then makes a loud buzzing noisethen no sound at all, he has already replaced the pre amp. Im assuming since the cassette no longer works either its time for another unit. I think i have the audio pinout in case he needs it but does anyone know a good source for another unit, from the links i found they run anywhere from 700 to 2000 bucks, wow.. he said he might have a tech look at it but not sure thats prob money better spent elsewhere. any ideas guys and gals...

Sierra fixes those units. They have a flat $100 fee and if the repair will cost more they contact you before going ahead with it:

Hi there,
on my 85 Aspy, cassette wrapping up tape and radio only working with bike in garage,as soon as on the road and get speed, it starts howling like a wolf and nothing else.
Anyone of you had the same problem, and know where to put hands?
