Oldfriend, I am not an authority when it comes to electrical and I know there will be someone along shortly to help buty it seem to me to be in your auto volume unit as mine works great. I have a 86 gl1200 SEi does yours have a digital speed meter if so is it working. I had the speed senor on the front wheelwent bad andit effected the radio ramming up the speedometer and the cruise control
