GL1200 Shock Bolt Replacement

347 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  neoracer
Hey Guys,
So I decided to take my own back wheel off to save a few bucks. I've since learned that my time is worth more than that. However, there was a rounded head on the right rear shock bolt. I really don't want to put it back in, but am having a hard time finding a replacement, as it has M8 threads, but then a thick collar on it where it goes through the shock. Any suggestions for me? Any help would be appreciated!

Also, should I be greasing anything in the final drive?

Looks like it's still available from Honda @ $10-16.00
I have one somewhere, but by the time I get it off, collect my money and ship it to you, you could have a new one for nearly the same price.......
the area where that shock bolt is can be ground back some w/o incident to allow a wrench better access to a socket or wrench,i always try to use a socket or a closed end on a wrench instead an open face one when possible, but if you only have the stock toolkit on the road you dont always have a choice
