Hi Wingers

q) Has anyone installed one of these kits?
Do they work? I can't see what the kit
actually is?

Please do a search on Ebay.com.
I can't see the item number on
this iphone?

Many thanks

Angel :)

That kit is to replace the plug on the wiring harness that attaches to the starter relay/main fuse.
It contains the plug, solder, heat shrink and the fuse cover.
You supply the new relay if that is burnt.

gl1200 solenoid kit

hi ken

many thanks for your prompt
reply ken!
i should ship the bike to you
and pay you to restore this wing!
:)

what a big learning curve this bike
has been to my cousin norman.
i bought the wing for his 70th birthday!

we were thinking about connecting
three new 14g yellow wires from
the stator to the reg rec.
we don't have any way of removing
the reg rec connectors to solder
new wires onto them.
could we just cut off the old
wire upto 1" from the connector and
solder on the new 14g wires?

thanks again ken! :)

gl1200 starter relay/stator mods

hi ken

i thought i going to receive
an fleabay harness in good condition.
I've bought a few parts off this uk
ebayer. he mentioned about the
main harness off an '84, in ok
condition. i would say a botched harness.
however, wing harness's are hard to
find out in the sticks where i live.
I've tagged all the connections from
the schematic and the connections
are there. just a few little repairs
to do. the three stator wires look
like they've been around the world a
few times. they were each covered in
endless wraps of black tape individually
and then wrapped, again
as three with another dozen wraps etc.
how can they breathe like that?

the original harness has 7 wires
missing? the main cause why the
rear lights don't work.
we're installing the complete one
tomorrow.

thanks again Ken!

regards

Angel
