GL1200 stator question

The only and best is ricks stators. Also this is the time to consider a poor boy altenator.
You do know that your new stator could only last a few months and then you will have to pull the engine to install anougther one. If you do use a stator, hard wire it.

Does the stator in the new to you engine test bad or are you going by the (Fear-Uncertainty-Doubt) surrounding the GL1200 stators?

Don't buy a no name cheapo from eBay. Some of them leak oil through the grommet where the three yellow wires exit. A couple of members posts about that recently. Stick with Ricks or another reputable make and you won't have problems.

i don't know the history of this new motor only that has about 41000 miles on it. It runs great but the bike was partially dismantled when i got it. don't want to take a chance on having stator fail after i put it in and then have to pull the engine again. I had to charge the battery and then jump it to fire the motor so i don't know if the battery was bad or the stator was bad. so i thought i would error on the side of replacing stator
