As you're sitting on the seat, the right coil is for #1 and #2 cylinders. Both front.
The left coil is for #3 and #4. Both rear.
i might be wrong but i always thought that right hand coil fires the front cylinders and the left hand fires the rear? oops, gl types faster.....
Welcome to the forum trashtruck.

It would be nice if there was a convention everyone adhered to for cylinder numbering but alas that is not the case.

glhonda is correct that Honda bikes number the cylinders by their position on the crank shaft however others just number them one, two etc down one side of the engine then continue on the other side.

That would be "scott s" but yes my dyslexia.
Oops.
want to thank you all for the info. The Clymer manual has it wrong - Bikes been parked and not started for about 18 months - cleaned carbs and new battery - tryed to start and with full choke the bike would only get up to 1700 rpms - tough finding parts here in Las Vegas - not a motorcycle salvage yard in the city - still working on it and I will get her running again - Again Thanks to all of you for the info - :claps:
