Check the plugs under the seat?. How about fuses? Do you have any aux. lights that could be shorted?

Hi
I have got problems with my lights, all taht is working on the bike is the headlight, brakelight ang blinkers. The bike is an 1986 Apencade.Any tips??

Assuming the bulbs are OK
Is the licence lamp working? check voltage on the brown wire coming from the brake/tail light sensor, There are two brown wires. If there is voltage on both then problems in the wiring from there, check grounds, if only voltage on one then I would suggest the sensor might be at fault.

Thanks for the the respond. The licenplate light is not working. Im gonna check the brown wirestonight, is the light sensor placed behind the battery?

Ok i found it. Can anyone tell me if one og the brown wires should get power from the ignition? It looks like that to me. If i power one with an hot wire from the battery the hole christmas tree lights up, and yhats what i want to happend... Could there be a broken wire from the ignition or even the ignition switch? Happy for quick answers, im sitting here at home in Norway and leaving for Ireland tomorrow and need to order parts before i leave :?

I am looking at a schematic for an 85 aspy, Brown wire comes from ignition switch TL2
If the licence light isnt working then there isnt voltage coming from the ignition switch because it (licence light) gets its feed before the tail light sensor. Double check the fuses. Power comes from battery to fuse to ignition switch to lights. if there is voltage at both sides of the fuse then check the ignition switch.

Thx for the help, the problem was the wire on the outgoing side of the fuse. The fuse was ok but the wire was damaged close to the fusebox.

I have this problem on a 87 1200 I recently brought home. (GAWD I LUV THIS BIKE!)
I replaced both bulbs when the trouble appeared, no change; - and in my case the tail light indicator varys in brightness
I'm going out to check the sensor now, I assume, if power goes in but dosen't come out, this is the problem?
Edit- We have power in - I'll be getting a new one Monday - (I hope)
