You can replace the seal, its a LOT cheaper than buying a new shock. Its been documented here before but I'm kinda new here and I don't recall where to find the information.

Hey Janhsmn,

I rebuilt mine, put new seals & ATF or you can use the reccommendedshock oil it made my bike more comfortable to replace the old oil with new.

I think it was about $40.00 for both rear shocks.

Some where I down loaded a how to make a spring compressor out of pipe fittings at the hardwere store with standard pipe fittings for about another $10.00

I then got some progressive springs and rebuilt the front and it changed the bike to a comfortable better handling bike
