This may sound rather funny, but I have the carbs off my 99 1500 looking for a possible vacuum leak. Well, curious george that I am, I start thinking about how to adjust the air bleed screws without buying the expensive and very seldom used tool for doing that. After some careful eyeballing with my el cheapo plastic caliper I came to the conclusion that the screws are roughly 17 caliber or 1.7 mm in diameter. Hmm, same size as a 17 HMR bullet! So I zip out to the rifle range I belong to and find several empty 17 HMR cases. Brought them home and BINGO they fit snug enough to turn the screws and stay in place!!! Carefully cut grooves in the heads with my Dremel for screwdriver slots to aid in adjusting. Now to install carbs and finish up a few other things so I can adjust them!!!
